▲ Aligned Work

Affirmations:

  • I surrender to the possibility of my dream career.

  • I awaken to the truth that if I can see it in my mind, it’s already mine.

  • My work life gets better and better every day.

  • My higher power is always working behind the scenes to give me my truest desires.

Encouraging Message:

Here’s an idea, bear with me—what if we are here to do what we love?

Furthermore, what if that which we are most passionate about could actually provide fully for us every survival need, and beyond. For some, this sounds too good to be true. If this idea seems too far away from your current circumstance, try opening up your mind to the possibility that it could be closer than you think.

What if alignment with your dream career was just one breath, one decision away? When you open yourself up to this idea, things in your life will begin to shift—it might take a little bit of behind-the-scenes orchestration, a little rearranging of your life situation—but that’s the job of your higher power. You can just sit back and relax, and move when you feel inspired.

Anything in your life can be transformed, especially that which you spend most of your time and energy on each week—your work.

What does a fulfilling and joyful career even look like? It energizes you in the morning, wakes you up with gratitude in your heart, a bounce in your step—motivated to create and face the day’s tasks.

It could look like connecting with coworkers in an uplifting environment, or entering your own studio space and making art. Maybe it’s serving people with your unique style of cooking, or touring around the world singing and playing music. Perhaps you love your current job, but shifting your mindset and making some small changes to your daily routine could help you feel enlivened while working there.

Some of you don’t want to work at all, and you dream of being a stay-at-home parent or homesteading. Some of you want to travel the world as your full-time occupation. When we think of the word "career," we think of a daily operation that works to make us money to help support our needs, but this message could also extend to anyone in any circumstance.

No matter where you’re at right now in terms of your life work, you can always lean into a space of greater fulfillment and joy, and in doing so, you can directly improve your daily routine.

In this moment, allow yourself to relax and dream a little—what career would make you the happiest? Do you feel yourself called in a certain direction, or are you in the right place now, and you just need a renewal of energy?

Envision your dream job, envision how much money you want to make, envision the environment, whether or not you have coworkers, who you serve, and how. Now, take a deep breath—and remind yourself that you can have it all. Anything you dream of.

Decide what you want, step into the knowing that if you can imagine it, it’s already yours, and then surrender it to your higher power. Continue to focus on your new vision, and watch what happens.

Reflective Prompts:

  • In a journal, write down everything you can about your dream career (even if it’s at your current job, but you want a promotion and a raise—or maybe you don’t want to work for anyone at all, describe that too). Describe it all in present tense.

  • Sit in silence with your body for a moment. How would it feel to have your perfect career, and to be making the amount of money that you desire? Bring in some gratitude for this, and stay here a while.

  • What do you think would make this world a better place, and how do your unique set of gifts play into this?

  • In general, what are some small changes you could make today to help you feel more alive, in the flow, and joyful (for your renewed emotional state will carry into your work life).

Closing:

Find your flow and anchor your life in love. Align with your higher power, align with your dreams. Remember that wild idea—we are here to do what we love. Consider what your life would look like if you truly embraced this concept. Now embody it.
